TYPE: Tucson Black-on-White DATE: A.D. 1275 to 1450 (Neuzil & Lyons 2005;37) COMMON FORMS: Jars. BACKGROUND COLOR: White. COMMON DESIGNS: Thickline design within thick banding lines. KEY DIFFERENCES: No red slip applied to bottom as would be in Gila Polychrome, no thin lines in design as in Gila Black-on-White. COMMENTS: This type has not been formally described (new type).
S1Y Salado Tucson Black-on-White Jar. Thick line design with white slip present on the inner rim. If this jar incorporated thin black lines it would be considered Gila Black-on-White. Approximate Dimensions: 6 1/2" or 16.5 cm. by 5" or 12.7 cm.
