TYPE: St. Johns Polychrome DATE: A.D. 1175 to 1300 (Carlson, 1970;39) BOWL DESIGN PLACEMENT: Primary interior designs, secondary exterior designs. COMMON DESIGNS: Designs are the same as found on Cibola Whiteware: Tularosa Black-on-White interiors, occasionally white paint outlining black designs on interiors. Exteriors usually have broad white painted designs on the red exteriors. Framing lines are usually the same size as the hatching lines but occasionally on exceptionally fine hatched specimens the framing lines may be wider. KEY DIFFERENCES: The design differences are the same as Tularosa Black-on-White. Exteriors white line width can vary from 3mm to 12mm wide but is usually 6mm or 7mm.
