TYPE: Los Muertos Polychrome DATE: A.D. 1375 - 1450 (Neuzil & Lyons 2005;34) Los Muertos Polychrome vessels usually have fine red lines incorporated into normal Gila black-on-white designs. The fine red lines are usually filler lines, or hatching. COMMENTS: Los Muertos Polychrome was mentioned as being a separate type by Lyons,2004:366, and photographed in Haury,1945: Plates: 10c, 11a, and 77c.
1N Salado Los Muertos Polychrome strap-handled bowl, with thin red lines painted in between bold black designs. The interior is slipped red. Approximate Dimensions: 6" or 15.2 cm. by 4 5/8" or 11.7 cm.
