1Y Hohokam Stone Double Sided Palette

This palette has an undecorated raised border on both sides with X's scratched

in on the sides above and below a deep medial groove.

This palette may be from the Sacaton Phase.

Approximate Dimensions: 7" by 4" by 1/2"

2Y Early Sacaton Phase Palette. This palette has the concave sides ore "hourglass"

shape common with Santa Cruz Phase Palettes. The low border with a scored design and

lack of notches and medial groove confirms it to date to the Sedentary Period.

Approximate Dimensions: 4 1/2" by 2 1/2" by 3/16"

3Y Sacaton Phase Palette with lead? crust and green glaze patches on it.

The border consists of opposed crosshatched triangles.

Approximate Dimensions: 6 1/2" by 3 1/4" by 1/2"

 

4Y Sacaton Phase Palette with a scored border design of opposing

crosshatched triangles and curvilinear scrolls in the corners.

Approximate Dimensions: 4 1/8" by 3" by 3/8"

 

5Y Sacaton Phase Palette without a raised border. The border is on the same

level as the top of the mixing basin. The basin does not taper down to a lower oval

depression in the middle. Approximate Dimensions: 3 1/4" by 2 3/4" by 5/8"
