Usually the hatching is diagonal, but parallel hatching occurs as well. Usually the hatched motifs average two to four times as wide as the solid motifs but occasionally approach the same size. Framing and hatching lines are usually the same width. Rare unit exterior designs usually consist of simple short lines parallel to each other at a diagonal angle near the rim. Framing lines and hatching lines are usually the same width. KEY DIFFERENCES: Hatched motifs usually average two to four times as wide as the solids, whereas in later Tularosa, the hatched motifs usually average equal to two times the size of the solid motifs.
