TYPE: Tin Cup Polychrome DATE: A.D. 1000 to 1100 (Green, 2010;40) BOWL DESIGN PLACEMENT: Interiors. COMMON DESIGNS: Designs elements or motifs include triangular and rectilinear scrolls, sawtoothed triangles, thin or thick lines. Some examples have wide (approx. 1/4") white lines outlined with thin black lines. Other examples have thin white and black lines. While others have wide black and white line work used to paint separate motifs. KEY DIFFERENCES: White and black on gray. Mancos style designs. SLIP OR SURFACE TREATMENT: May or may not have thin polished white slip on exteriors of bowls. Corrugated exteriors rare. OTHER COMMON TYPES WITH SIMILAR DESIGN STYLES: TEMPER: Variably fine. FORMS: Bowls, seed jars, ladles.
Sherd Interiors
Sherd Exteriors Smallest shard is 1 1/4" long. Cener round shard appears to have organic paint while the other two appear to me mineral.
