TYPE: St. Johns White-on-Red

DATE: A.D. 1175 to 1300 (see comments)

DESIGN PLACEMENT: Exteriors.

COMMON DESIGNS: Designs are the same as found on the exteriors of St. Johns Polychrome bowls.

COMMON BACKGROUND COLOR(S): Red.

KEY DIFFERENCES: White-on-Red designs only, no black designs.

COMMENTS: This type has not been formally described (new type). I am not sure if this type has ever been recorded. Dates are believed to be the same as St. Johns Polychrome.

The bottom of this very rare type has been slipped or painted white.
