TYPE: Safford Corrugated

DATE: A.D. 1250 to 1450 (see comments)

KEY DIFFERENCES: "Coil and scraped", creamy looking. Usually tan color, often orange to red or brown. Smeared indented corrugated that often seems highly polished almost "wet" looking. Some of them look (for a lack of a better term) like cottage cheese.

TEMPER: Fine to very fine quartz and/or gold or silver mica particles.

COMMENTS: This type has not been formally recognized (new type). Dates are assumed to be the same as San Carlos Red-on-Brown as this type has reportedly been found in direct association with it.

If you look closely you can see that this vessel is smeared indented corrugated.
