TYPE: Gila White-on-Red DATE: AD 1300 to 1450 (see comments) BOWL DESIGN PLACEMENT: Exteriors. COMMON DESIGNS: See Gila Polychrome KEY DIFFERENCES: Gila style designs executed in white paint on a red slipped background, interiors are red slipped with no decoration. Cliff White-on-Red have smudged black interiors. Tucson White-on-Red has no fine linework. COMMENTS: This type was first described by DiPeso, 1958, page 101. Dates are assumed to be the same as Gila Polychrome.
