TYPE: Kotyiti Glaze Polychrome (Glaze F)

DATE: A.D. 1625 to 1700 (Oppelt,2002;28)

PRIMARY BOWL DESIGN PLACEMENT: Interiors or exteriors often with seondary designs on opposite surface.

COMMON DESIGNS:  Designs are usually simple.

KEY DIFFERENCES:  Shouldered bowls usually without thickened rims. Two intentional colors of slips or paints. Extremely thick "runny" glaze paint although some vessels have thin fairly well controlled painted designs. Most often done in red slip on one surface and white slip on the other surface of bowls painted with thick runny glaze black. Some vessels may have glaze black and red paints on white slip.

BACKGROUND COLOR: Red, white, or red and white slips.
