TYPE: Navajo Black-on-Orange (AKA Navajo Painted) DATE: Circa A.D. 1750 to 1955 (Oppelt, 2002:37) COMMON DESIGNS: Designs are usually like Gobernador Black-on-Yellow yet not exexuted as well. KEY DIFFERENCES: Paste color can be gray, pink, or orange, but usually buff or cream throughout without a carbon core. Gobernador usually has a carbon core.
