TYPE: Medicine Black-on-Red

PRIMARY BOWL DESIGN PLACEMENT: Interiors.

COMMON BACKGROUND COLOR(S): Red.

COMMON DESIGNS: Early style. Thick and thin lines along with solids, elongated triangles that develop into lines are common. Design is often pendant to the rim, or banded. One to four bands at rim common.

KEY DIFFERENCES: Black designs with thick and thin lines often with elongated solids on a red slipped background. Bowl exteriors slipped red also, often the base is left non-slipped.
