TYPE: Mancos Gray (Clapboard Corrugated)

DATE: A.D. 850 to 975 (Oppelt 2002:31)

KEY DIFFERENCES: Clapboard corrugation usually over most or all of vessels surface.

Incised

Basket Impressed

Painted

COMMENTS: The incised variety has tool incising at the coil junctures. A basket impressed variety shows a basket impression on the exterior base of the vessel. Rarely vessels of this type have interior rim lines or lines painted over the corrugation.
