TYPE: Three Rivers Black-on-Red

DATE: A.D. 1125-1300

BOWL DESIGN PLACEMENT: Interiors.

COMMON DESIGNS: Often two to four narrow parallel lines painted below the rim and across the bottom of bowls or body of jars.

KEY DIFFERENCES: Black designs on a red slipped background.

COMMENTS: Not a formally described type, although mentioned by Wiseman (Beckett, 2001;8). Dates are assumed to be the same as Three Rivers Red-on-Terracotta.
