||
TYPE: Houck Polychrome Variants DATE: A.D. 1100 to 1300 (Carlson, 1970;23&25)
1Y This Houck Polychrome bowl has had a wide band left unslipped on the interior, possibly portraying brightness from the sun or star design in the center bottom. The interior design is like one would expect to find on St. Johns Black-on-Red or polychrome examples, proving this is likely a very late example of Houck Polychrome. Approximate Dimensions: 9 1/8" by 4 1/2"
