TYPE: Fourmile Polychrome Variants

DATE: A.D. 1325 to 1400 (Carlson, 1970;71)

1Y Fourmile Polychrome Variant Jar.

For reasons unknown, the top of this jar is not slipped, rather it is the natural buff color of the paste that has been polished. This treatment of leaving one or more areas unslipped, has been practiced since Houck Polychrome times (ca. 1100 A.D.)
