TYPE: Fernando Red-on-Brown PERIOD: Viejo DATE: A.D. 700 to 1250 (Rakita and Raymond, 2003;160) BOWL DESIGN PLACEMENT: Interiors, occasionally exteriors. COMMON DESIGNS: Intricate geometric designs that may include hatching, dots, zigzags, diamonds, etc.. Rims are usually painted. COMMON BACKGROUND COLOR(S): Light sometimes reddish brown to white. KEY DIFFERENCES: Narrow polished designs (designs are blurred due to polishing). Designs are usually more complex than Anchondo Red-on-Brown.
