TYPE: Dos Cabezas Red-on-Brown DATE: A.D. 650 to 800 (Heckman, 2000;66) PRIMARY BOWL DESIGN PLACEMENT: Interiors. COMMON DESIGNS: Simple broadline designs. Designs are like Hohokam, Estrella Red-on-Gray thick line designs. Quartered layouts of nested chevrons seems to be the most common. KEY DIFFERENCES: Interior broadline red designs. The red lines were polished more extensively than the rest of the vessel. Exteriors often partially or completely slipped red. VARIETIES: Exteriors may or may not have a red slip.
