TYPE: Cameron Polychrome DATE: A.D. 1100 to 1285 (Oppelt, 2008;6) COMMON BACKGROUND COLOR(S): Interiors orange or mostly red with orange space (often football shaped) in bottom. PRIMARY BOWL DESIGN PLACEMENT: Interiors. COMMON DESIGNS: Designs that are hatched, usually in a Dogoszhi style. KEY DIFFERENCES: Black hatched designs on orange and/or red (stripes) background colors. Exteriors red slipped (sometimes only to the base) usually with no bands or designs. Usually no loop handles on bowls. PRIMARY DESIGN VARIETIES: 1) Hatching on red areas. 2) Hatching on orange areas. 3) Hatching on red and orange areas.
1N Cameron Polychrome Bowl. This variety has diagonal hatching on the red (exterior is slipped mostly red except for the base).
2Y Cameron Polychrome Bowl This variety has diagonal hatching on red and orange areas. The interior is mostly slipped red, except for a football shaped opening in the center. The exterior is totally slipped red. Approximate Dimensions: 7 5/8" or 19.4 cm. by 4" or 10.1 cm.
