TYPE: Cuyamungue Black-on-Tan DATE: A.D. 1450 to 1550 (Oppelt,2002:13) BOWL DESIGN PLACEMENT: Primary interior designs, secondary exterior designs. COMMOND DESIGNS: Designs are much the same as Bandelier Black-on-Gray, however reportedly are not as finely executed. BACKGROUND COLOR: Tan slip, may have gray fire clouds. KEY DIFFERENCES: Tan background color. Taller rim heights for bowls with recurved or flared rims (approximately 2.3 to 3.5 cm). Designs are relatively careless. Jars usually have tall rims and low sharp shoulders and may have concave bases.
